Claire reintroduced the Provincial Shipbuilding Act

The Provincial Shipbuilding Act would give preference to B.C. shipyards to build, refit and maintain ferries and other vessels used for public transit and for public service (such as police boats). We built many ferries in BC in the past and, if shipyards were able to work in consortiums, we could do so again.

Claire was first elected May 17, 2005 as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for North Island and was re-elected May 12, 2009 and again on May 14, 2013. She is currently Opposition Critic for the Ministry of Transportation, which also includes BC Ferries.
